The Unquiet Sound

A supernatural Gothic horror centered on the echoes of trauma and how memories can haunt people. Liminal moments open up a world that should never be seen, the unreal eats away at the real. What becomes the world when quiet means death and the unquiet is the killer?

Natalie never thought of herself as special. Cursed, if anything—she has always had a knack for being the epicenter of bad luck. People always get hurt around her, things break for seemingly no reason.

But when a mysterious silence starts to settle in town, people start to mysteriously disappear, only to later be discovered dead, and Natalie finds she’s the only one that can hear a leftover heartbeat.

What awaits her in the silence? What hides, hungry, in the stillness?

This story was simply something that came to my mind when I was workshopping titles for a different project. I saw the name and I knew I had to use it for something or create a new work for it. It captured such a clear and haunting aesthetic and as I worked on the basic plot, everything else worked out.
